Get started¶
Stackmill runs in one of two shapes, and which one you want decides everything else on this page.
Choose your installation¶
| You want | Install | Read |
|---|---|---|
| One person, one machine, programs written and simulated at a desk | Desktop | Install on a desktop |
| A cell on a factory floor, with operator screens on tablets | Server | Install a server |
| A server on a machine you already run | Server, by hand | Add to an existing server |
The software is the same in all three. A server installation adds one thing: the screens become clients, so several people can open the same cell from a tablet, a laptop or the FANUC pendant at the same time.
Before you install¶
Check what you need first — in particular whether the machine has a security module, because that decides whether the licence works offline.
