Building an operator HMI

The screens an operator sees are built in the project, not written in code.

The editor

A canvas holding the components of one screen. What you place is what an operator gets, on whatever device opens the cell.

The components

A small set on purpose: a button, a label, a selector, and a separator. A screen an operator can use under pressure is a screen with few things on it.

Binding to variables

Every component is bound to a variable: a button sets one, a label shows one, a selector chooses among values. Nothing is wired directly to the robot — the variable is the contract, and a flow or a program does the rest.

Publishing to the panel

The screen is part of the project, so it reaches the panel when the cell does. Design it at the size of the real device — the FANUC tablet pendant, not your monitor — and test it in test mode before anyone depends on it.
